Sandra Slatter is a cancer survivor.  To most people, this would seem to be the greatest gift of life. What many people don’t understand is that to survive cancer, Sandra and others like her live in the state of liminality, betwixt and between two living spaces. You are no longer the person you used to be, and even if you could kid yourself that you are, you can no longer perform in the same arenas that you did, and in many cases you don’t want to.

Like many other cancer survivors her life has changed dramatically and permanently. Sandra has now become an advocate and a voice for those surviving cancer. As a way of creating an awareness of the emotional fallout of surviving cancer she has chosen to walk the Camino Way. The Camino Way runs very much in parallel with her own journey of surviving cancer; it is a long, hard trek which continually challenges one to the core.

Living Well Project

‘The Living Well Project’
- a Support Care and Rehabilitation Project will  provide help and support to patients and their carers in coping with the traumas associated with transplantation and adaptation to a new life.  The service will not be a substitute for diagnosis, treatment or information from a medical care provider but will be a unique form of added support.
