29/10 Cotswolds not so happy

We were woken this morning by the phone ringing - on several occasions.  It was very early and when we got up I commented to Ian that I didnt really like it when the phone rang that early as usually it carried bad news. We chatted for a while and then he checked his messages.  He told Ken the call was for him that there was a message for him to phone Australia - It was from our friends Pat and Mick.

Pat was really upset and was phoning to tell us that on Saturday,Heidi (my dog) had collapsed and was suffering and they had to make the decision to put her to sleep.  A very hard call but something that was not unexpected.  Heidi was fourteen years old and had been struggling since early in the year.  She was a real fighter, but think it all must have got too much. I  realise making this decisiion on my behaf  must have been very difficult for Pat and Mick and  I am really grateful for the love and care they gave Heidi on this and other occasions.

Hi Sandra (and Mavis and Ken)
so glad you're still blogging - I thought your final Camino one might have been the end, so was really happy to see your Madrid and England entries. It must feel fantastic to be eating good food and resting.
I'm sending my sympathy for your loss of Heidi. I had to make the same decision for my old girl Grace a few years ago. She was so ill and in pain - it was the best thing. I know how sad you must be though

lots of love
Karen

Hi Sis, I am so sorry to hear about Heidi. I know how hard it can be to lose a loved one. She had a good innings and I am sure she enjoyed her Life.
